Texas Livestock Laboratory

Welcome to Texas Livestock Laboratory!

Texas Livestock Laboratory proudly provides pregnancy and disease testing for cattle, sheep, and goats. BioPRYN (Pregnancy Ruminant Yes/No) is a pregnancy detection procedure in ruminant animals such as cattle, sheep, and goats. It measures the presence of Pregnancy-Specific Protein B (PSPB) in the blood circulation of the animal. The PSPB is a protein produced by the placenta of the growing fetus. Our BioPRYN pregnancy tests can accurately determine pregnancy from as early as 28 days post-breeding in does and cows and 30 days post-breeding in ewes.

We also can test cattle for BVD and Johne’s and sheep/goats for OPP/CAE, CL, and Johne’s. Intestinal parasite testing for all species can detect most worms though the submission of a fecal sample.

We are located in Northeast Texas, but we can collect blood samples for farmers and ranchers in Oklahoma and Texas. Also, we can run pregnancy tests same day by appointment. You can pen, test, and sort all on the same day.
